Anthony 'Discreet' Bayou (Limited Edition, Sheffield)

'Back to the Lab will give me an amazing opportunity to work closely with others who share the same views as I do. It will help me on my path to learn things about dance and movement that I may not have otherwise. It will also provide me with knowledge that I can pass down to my students.'

Anthony Bayou started dancing at the age of 16 at a local hip hop dance school in Sheffield. What started as a hobby quickly turned into to a lifestyle. He was given the name Discreet by a crewmate who noticed his usual quiet and calm personality quickly disappeared when he stepped on the dance floor.

After only a couple of years of dancing Anthony opened his own dance school called Discreet’s Urban Dance Academy. The school has gone from strength to strength with more 100 students attending classes per week. Recognising some of the talent within the school he started Limited Edition, a hip hop dance company including some of their best dancers. They recently performed at Breakin’ Convention Sheffield 2012 and will perform at Sheffield’s high profile Christmas lights event.

As a solo artist Anthony has enjoyed a string of success in national competitions as well as several commercial dance jobs. He beat 2500 competitors to win MAOAM's UK-wide street dance competition for under 18s and was nominated for South Yorkshire’s Young Person of the Year award for his contribution to his local community and young people.
