Tyler Attwood (UK)
Growing up in the city of Gloucester, South west England Tyler Attwood began dancing from the age of 13 after the inspiration of his uncles. After two years of training in the style of b-boying, Tyler then joined local youth dance company GD:URBAN and Swindon based Youth company – YDA Urban.
His interests began to broaden when at these youth companies, drifting away from b-boying to embrace styles new to him like popping. Now a member of the YDA for over four years, he has evolved as a dancer expanding his understanding of urban dance and venturing into classical dance in styles such as ballet and contemporary.
Tyler's training has led him to work with many professional artists across the dance world from numerous styles.
Accompanying his training, Tyler has performed in numerous venues across England. Some of these include; Bristol Harbourside Festival, Breakin' Convention Tour (Bristol), in house Swindon dance summer show and The Wyvern theatre (both in Swindon) Laban dance School research presentation event (London) – to name a few.
A highlight of Tyler's career so far as a dance came in October 2011 where he performed at the O2 Arena for the World Skills competition in front of 10,000 people.
His training has led him to venture into the world of teaching as he values the passing on the knowledge in which he has gained to the future generations invaluably. Mentored by Robert Hylton, he has taught in numerous Primary, Secondary schools, community centres and youth clubs in the Gloucestershire area, branching out further into the South West.
Aside from training as a dancer and teaching, Tyler ventured into event management and founded Team M.S.B in February 2013. M.S.B standing for Multi Styles Battle is the first multi street dance styles battle to come to Gloucestershire. Now into their third event after holding two successful events in a year, hosting numerous workshops in forms of the HipHop Culture Team M.S.B has been and continues to be a success.
