Have you ever arrived at a theatre for a technical rehearsal and felt overwhelmed? Do you struggle to articulate your lighting plan and technical requirements? Knowing how to prepare for and run a good technical rehearsal will make a huge difference to the production values of your work. This session aims to prepare you to optimise technical aspects of your work. From communication and building a rapport with the technical team to understanding a range of lighting options and how to develop lighting as a choreographic tool.

It features a lecture-demonstration on a range of lighting styles, designs and terminology. It also focuses on the importance of being realistic and working within your means without sacrificing quality of work. By the end of the day you should feel confident about managing technical elements of your production.
