Gina Martinez performed from an early age in her family’s high wire act Los Martínez touring with circuses worldwide. Gina has trained in many commercial forms of dance, training formally at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds.
Gina has been performing and devising choreography for the Urban Club, Street- Dance and Corporate & Commercial scene for 15 years to include; Television, Film, Commercials, Music videos, Theatre, Fashion Shows, Musical Theatre and Arts in Education Projects. Alongside teaching ongoing resident UK classes Gina has taught numerous workshops to cater for all abilities worldwide.
In addition to this Gina also periodically travels to choreograph & chart larger Televised Stadium Mass Movement, Commercial and Corporate events; including serving as an Assistant Choreographer for Manchester Commonwealth Games 2002, Athens Olympic Games 2004 and The Aspire Academy 2005 Qatar Opening and Closing Ceremonies. As well as being a choreographer and presenter for Nike & MTV’s 2005 ‘Just Add Moves’ Documentary.
Going on to Associate Choreograph The Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Ceremonies, The Gulf Cup 2007, Dubai, 50th Anniversary of the Abu Dhabi Police 2007 and The Meydan Water Project Desert Spectacular, for the Royal Family in Dubai 2008.
Recently Gina appeared as a feature Dancer in The MTV European Music Awards 2008 in Liverpool, dancing for Katie Perry, Kid Rock and Pink.
Currently Gina is working on charting and choreographing the ADEC Award Ceremony in Dubai and South Hook Inauguration V.VIP Ceremony in Milford Haven in which she will be a feature Dancer also, both in May 2009.
Gina is also the Breakin’ Convention Representative and Project Manager for the Salford Date of the 2009 Tour featuring; Salah (France), VII Gems Rock Division featuring Ken Swift (USA) and MyoSung Crew (Korea) alongside some of the North West’s very own break dancers and Hip Hop artists at The Lowry Theatre May 30th.
Dance Styles: Street, Commercial, Jazz, Contemporary, Latin, Ballroom, Rock n Roll, Basic Breaking/Locking, Capoeira, Reggaeton, African, Bollywood, Basic Ballet & Catwalk Trained.
